A leading national manufacturer of building materials is seeking a Sales & Use Tax Coordinator to support its growing tax and compliance operations. The Sales & Use Tax Coordinator will assist with indirect tax compliance across multiple states, ensuring accurate and timely filings, reconciliations, and documentation. Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and submit sales, use, and excise tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
  • Reconcile tax accounts, investigate discrepancies, and process adjustments as needed
  • Maintain exemption certificates and ensure proper documentation for audit readiness
  • Respond to state tax notices and assist with inquiries or supporting documentation
  • Support internal teams with taxability questions on invoices, purchases, and customer transactions
  • Assist with external audits by gathering documents and preparing requested reports
  • Monitor changes in sales & use tax regulations and update internal records accordingly
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the broader tax team to ensure accurate tax handling

Requirements:

  • Experience with sales & use tax compliance, accounting, or tax administration preferred
  • Familiarity with multi‑state filings and indirect tax concepts is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, reconciliations)
  • Ability to manage deadlines, track multiple filings, and stay organized
  • Comfort working in ERP systems (SAP or JD Edwards) is helpful
  • Strong attention to accuracy and a willingness to investigate issues
