Job Description

Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce organization, is seeking a Sales & Use Tax Accountant to support and help optimize their indirect tax function. This role will play a key part in ensuring multi-state compliance while partnering with the business during an ongoing system implementation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, high-volume environment and wants to contribute to process improvements and scalable solutions.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage sales & use tax filings and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Monitor and maintain multi-state nexus and tax requirements
  • Reconcile tax payable accounts and transaction data
  • Support tax audits, notices, and inquiries as needed
  • Partner with accounting/finance teams to ensure accurate tax treatment
  • Assist with system implementation (ERP/tax engine): Testing and validation of tax configurations, Data mapping and accuracy checks, Process alignment and documentation
  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for process improvement

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Sales & Use Tax / Indirect Tax experience
  • Experience in e-commerce or high-volume transactional environments
  • Exposure to multi-state tax compliance (nexus, filings, audits)
  • Experience supporting or working through a system implementation (ERP, Avalara, Vertex, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to navigate change and ambiguity
  • Experience with Solaris or similar tax software
  • Prior involvement in audit support
  • Process improvement or systems optimization mindset
