We are looking to hire a Sales Team Leader to join our team! Reporting to the Head of Sales, in this role, you will drive revenue growth and maximise conversion by empowering your team to consistently perform at their best through strategic sales leadership and hands-on daily management. This is a hybrid role, working from our Surbiton office every Wednesday and Thursday to collaborate closely with the team and the wider business. Flexibility to travel is preferred, as the position includes up to 10 days of educational travel each year to experience one of our adventures firsthand - an invaluable opportunity for building product expertise and ensuring our team delivers exceptional customer experience.
Job Responsibility:
Sales Coaching & Development – Prepare and deliver individual coaching sessions, using weekly scorecards and bi-weekly quality reviews to ensure consistent, high-quality performance across the team
Performance Management – Provide both formal and informal performance management where necessary, setting clear expectations and addressing challenges proactively
Data-Driven Leadership – Analyse and act on team performance data (including Sales KPIs and Qualtrics) to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
Global Collaboration – Partner with global sales leaders to design and deliver department-wide coaching, actively contributing to sales engagement forums and cross-brand coaching circles within Travelopia
Recruitment & Onboarding – Recruit, train, and support new team members, equipping them to achieve and exceed company targets
Stakeholder Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Product, Marketing, and Commercial, collaborating on initiatives that drive sales effectiveness and business growth
Issue Resolution – Handle escalated booking issues and consultant errors quickly and effectively to maintain customer satisfaction and protect revenue
Team Motivation & Growth – Maximise sales opportunities by driving performance against measurable KPIs, ensuring team members are supported, motivated, and set up for success
Performance Reviews & Objectives – Conduct regular 1:1s, development reviews, and set SMART objectives to support continuous improvement
Event & Training Support – Contribute to the organisation of company-wide annual staff educationals as well as Adventure Connects and team socials to enhance knowledge and engagement across the team
Hands-On Sales – Step in as a Sales Consultant when required, including covering early/late shifts and weekends, to support demand and lead by example
Requirements:
Proven experience coaching and developing sales teams to consistently achieve and exceed revenue and conversion targets
Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
The ability to stay calm, focused, and organised in a fast-paced environment
A commercial mindset with a strong understanding of sales KPIs and how to leverage them for performance improvement
High-impact sales leader and creative coach who drives innovation through engaging, strategic development
