Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Sales Tax Analyst to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with sales and use tax regulations while contributing to the efficient management of tax-related processes. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to handle complex tax matters effectively.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns accurately and on time
  • Assist in sales tax audits by compiling required documentation and presenting company positions clearly
  • Reconcile tax accounts during the month-end process and create accurate journal entries
  • Manage and review sales and indirect tax general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain and update customer exemption certificates, ensuring compliance within related systems
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency using technology
  • Monitor and apply changes in domestic sales tax legislation, maintaining accurate rates and rules within tax software
  • Conduct research and analysis to interpret multi-state sales and use tax laws and regulations
  • Resolve customer and vendor tax-related inquiries and address notices from tax authorities promptly

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate and sales tax processes
  • Proficiency in preparing and filing sales tax returns
  • Experience with general ledger reconciliation and journal entries
  • Ability to research and interpret complex multi-state tax laws and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and implement process improvements
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with customers, vendors, and tax authorities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
