Assists Outside Sales team in selling building products and services to business and industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business.
Job Responsibility:
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads
Regularly travels throughout assigned territory with outside Sales Representative to call on customers
Displays or demonstrates product
Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts
Estimates date of delivery to customer
Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts
Tracks stock levels
Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
Attends trade shows
Requirements:
One year certificate from college or technical school
three to six months related selling experience and/or training
or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior building materials industry experience preferred
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations
Ability to focus on solving conflict
Ability to succeed in a sales environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to succeed in a team environment
Knowledge and understanding of market and competition
Ability to apply strategic thinking
