The Critical Care Sales Specialist is actively involved with the pre- and post-sale activities to nurture customer relationships, outline parameters for success and develop clinical champions that result in successful product adoption. This position is responsible for the promotion and sales of designated products in such a manner as to increase sales in their designated geographies. The Critical Care sales specialist is responsible for the growth of overall product utilization within their areas including, but not limited to, selling the designated products to new and existing customers, generating new business, cold calling, presenting and demonstrating BD’s products, being able to provide a level of customer education/customer service to create total customer satisfaction. The Critical Care Sales Specialist facilitates improved patient care while increasing value to both BD and medical professionals.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the sales process by partnering with the local territory manager, clinical Specialist and the current or intended customer to drive the sales aspects of product evaluations, implementations, and post-implementation training needs in order to advance and/or maintain stages within the sales cycle
Activities include, but are not limited to, presentation delivery, comprehensive training plan development, Simulation lab training, live case coverage, objection handling, troubleshooting and solution positioning that supports the safe and effective use of the BD critical care product portfolio
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
MBA a plus
5+ years of direct sales experience in a critical care setting required
5+ years sales experience with proven track record of exceeding sales goals required
Medical device sales experience and/or medical experience in the OR, ER, ICU, IR setting, strongly preferred
Strong clinical skills are a plus
Must be results-oriented, with motivation to achieve high performance
Proven ability to interact with different specialties within a hospital and deliver complex and technical subject matter to clinicians in the hospital or clinical setting
Self-directed, able to work independently and handle multiple projects concurrently to function in a fast paced, high growth environment
Ability to handle difficult conversations/situations
Strong problem solving/analytical skills and effective presentation skills
Excellent organizational skills and strong communicative, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and computer technology including iPhone and iPad platforms
Ability to travel >50% of time, many times with short notice
Must be able to establish and maintain vendor credentials (via RepTrax, Vendormate, etc.) to have the ability to enter and work, as required, in hospitals and other medical facilities
