Job Description:

Our client in the insurance space, is seeking a Permanent, Full-Time Sales Representative to join their team in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity, as no prior insurance experience is required. They are committed to investing in their staff by providing and paying for all necessary training and licensing to become a certified insurance broker in Atlantic Canada. Job Responsibility:

  • Act as the primary advisor for ongoing client needs, conducting thorough needs assessments, and providing expert recommendations on personal insurance solutions (e.g., home, auto)
  • Actively sell new insurance policies (writing new business) and diligently work to retain the existing book of client business through renewal processes and proactive communication (retention calls)
  • Prepare all necessary documentation for insurance carriers, accurately complete client applications, process policy changes, and issue insurance certificates
  • Communicate effectively with Underwriters and Adjusters to discuss policy guidelines, manage workflow, and stay current on underwriting rules
  • Actively participate in training initiatives to maintain expertise and stay up-to-date with industry knowledge

Requirements:

  • Completion of a High School Diploma is required
  • post-secondary education is considered a plus
  • Must possess a valid insurance license for Newfoundland and Labrador OR demonstrate a strong commitment to promptly obtaining one
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is necessary
  • Outstanding customer service skills with proven ability in conflict resolution
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities to manage competing priorities successfully
  • Strong team orientation and a capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
