Groupon is seeking a highly detail-oriented Sales Process Analyst Intern to play a critical role in a major strategic initiative: building a world-class Sales Operating System. You will act as an operational journalist, embedding yourself with our Chicago-based sales teams to observe, document, and analyze their daily workflows. Your detailed findings will directly inform the identification of process bottlenecks, manual tasks, and key automation opportunities that will shape the future of our entire sales organization. This is a unique opportunity to see how a global sales engine works from the inside out and make a tangible, measurable impact on our business transformation.
Job Responsibility:
In-Person Process Documentation: Conduct shadowing sessions with our Business Development (BD) representatives, Merchant Development (MD) teams, and District Sales Managers (DSMs) in our Chicago office
Detailed Workflow Mapping: Create highly detailed, step-by-step process maps and documentation of daily and weekly workflows, down to the click-level
Tool Usage Analysis: Meticulously log observations on tool usage (e.g., Salesforce, Salesloft, Google Suite), time spent on various tasks, and common process workarounds or inefficiencies
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with the Revenue Operations team to analyze your findings and identify key friction points and manual tasks ripe for automation
Strategic Reporting: Present your documented findings in a clear and concise format to support process improvement initiatives and engineering recommendations with executive-level visibility
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Business, Economics, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related field
Extremely detail-oriented and organized with a natural ability for observing complex processes and breaking them down into simple, logical steps
Excellent listening skills and meticulous note-taking capabilities
Curious and analytical mindset with a genuine interest in understanding the "why" behind how businesses operate
Proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present findings clearly to diverse audiences
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
Experience with flowcharting tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Miro, Draw.io)
