Job Description

The Manager, Business Development is responsible to grow the Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy (HVMB) business across assigned international markets. The role will prospect, qualify, sell to and vet Home Management Companies (HMCs) to partner with HVMB. To accomplish this, the Manager will build and manage a sales funnel and implement an effective sales strategy to meet monthly and annual goals. Success in the position requires working at a fast pace, employing problem solving and project management skills to onboard partners to meet individual goals and contribute to team goals on revenue and quality.

Job Responsibility

  • Identifies, initiates, and analyzes HMCs for potential partnerships across allocated international markets
  • Leads the development process including: Prospecting/qualification, Pitching/Selling, Due diligence, Contract negotiations
  • Successfully onboards HMCs to the platform to meet individual sales goals
  • Complies with national, regional, and local laws in the markets we operate
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems
  • Manages the flow of questions from HMCs/Connectivity Providers, provides support as possible and directs questions and escalations to their leader and cross functional teams as applicable
  • Works with team to use processes and systems to make recommendations for incremental improvements, implementing these recommendations where appropriate
  • Establishes and maintains complete and up-to-date information to ensure accurate reporting
  • Manages HMC/Connectivity Provider relationships in the initial period before they are handed over to Account Management
  • Informs, updates, and provides information to supervisors and co-workers in a timely manner
  • Maintains positive working relations with internal customers, HMCs/Connectivity Providers and the wider HVMB team
  • Manages time effectively and conducts activities in an organized manner
  • Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by manager

Requirements

  • 3-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related subject and 3+ years of experience in business development, hotel industry, vacation rental industry or other relevant business experience, demonstrating a pattern of exceptional performance
  • OR 5+ years of relevant professional experience business/partnership development, hotel industry, or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance
  • Demonstrated ability of strong sale knowledge/sales funnel management, project management and organizational skills with a service mindset
  • Willingness to travel 10% - 20%
  • Spanish speaking required

Nice to have

  • Hotel sales, vacation rental development, property management and/or OTA experience
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
