As Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, strengthening long-term customer partnerships, and supporting international sales activity. While the role does not involve direct line management, you will have full autonomy to manage your sales pipeline, nurture existing customer relationships, and lead business development and account management across the Teesside region. You will also collaborate closely with established sales teams across the UK and Europe, providing opportunities to share best practice and contribute to wider commercial success. This position reports directly to the Head of Sales. European travel will be required to support key accounts and affiliate sales teams. All travel expenses are fully covered. Notice will be provided at around 2 weeks, ahead of travel.
Job Responsibility:
Developing and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with both existing clients and new customers
Responding promptly to customer enquiries, providing in-depth technical guidance and support
Negotiating commercial terms and order conditions within agreed delegation levels
Producing accurate and timely customer visit reports and maintaining CRM updates
Actively participating in regular sales meetings, reviews, and performance discussions
Collaborating closely with internal technical and commercial teams to deliver effective solutions and a high level of customer service
Supporting sales forecasting and contributing towards the achievement of the overall sales budget
Requirements:
At least 3 years' experience as a Sales Manager or Business Development Manager
A background in technical or industrial sales
Experience in materials (e.g. graphite) or glass production (advantageous)
Degree-level education or equivalent demonstrable industry experience
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
