Markey’s provides creative as well as technical audio-visual solutions for client events at Marriott IndyPlace in downtown Indianapolis. The Sales Manager is responsible for consulting with customers and hotel event management teams to create defining experiences for all customer live and virtual events.
Job Responsibility:
Work directly with clients contracting with the Marriott IndyPlace and requiring various services including: audiovisual rental, electrical services, Internet services, rigging services and technical labor
Provide creative and audiovisual solutions for events through consulting and selling techniques
Evaluate client needs and prepare quotes, labor estimates and diagrams
Work closely and positively with hotel event management and employees
Ensure that customers receive the proper service and equipment needed to accomplish their objectives
Foster positive working relationships with Marriott IndyPlace management and support staff, hotel guests, clients, and event planners
Requirements:
At least one year experience in event technology sales is preferred
Candidates with experience making verbal presentations to customers will be given greater consideration
Must display a high level of detail in all work including account management and organizing information
Must have detailed knowledge of A/V equipment ranging from sound systems to large-venue projection to stage lighting and design
Must be able to estimate manpower and labor requirements for events of 100 to 1000 attendees
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Thorough knowledge of R2 software including order writing, equipment shortage and POs
Previous history of interacting positively with internal and external customers
Ability to work as part of a team
Able to work a flexible schedule as dictated by business needs
Required to wear professional work attire and be willing to adhere to appearance guidelines
Must possess excellent time management and multitasking skills by balancing workload between quoting projects, attending meetings, face-to-face customer interactions, on-site event support, billing and overall account management
