UAE is a key expansion market for our EMEA region and will play a critical role in achieving Airwallex’s commercial success in EMEA and globally. This role is a key part of the commercial team in EMEA, responsible for the SME & Growth segment on the ground in Dubai, working to achieve ambitious commercial aspirations, including acquiring new clients (frontbook) and managing existing clients (backbook) and driving upsells/cross-sells, and growing our presence to cement Airwallex as the market leader within the global banking and payments industry.
Job Responsibility:
Drive SME Performance: Lead and partner with the Sales Development, Direct Sales, Account Management, and Channel teams to exceed the UAE targets and set new benchmarks for excellence
Execute Commercial Strategy: Formulate and deliver the end-to-end SME go-to-market strategy. Utilise data-driven insights to identify key revenue channels, driving sustainable growth and profitability against annual OKRs
Customer & Product Engagement: Interface directly with the market to lead strategic deal-making. Partner with the global Product team to translate customer feedback into actionable product strategies
Leadership: Recruit and retain world-class talent to build a positive, high-performing sales culture. Lead quarterly UAE Sales Kick-Offs to align the SME team on vision and execution
Brand Ambassadorship: Strengthen the Airwallex brand across the UAE by representing the company at key events. Collaborate with global teams to ensure local commercial strategies align with our worldwide vision
Requirements:
Proven experience of at least 8 years in sales, revenue growth, or go-to-market leadership, driving cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious targets
Demonstrated ability to build and scale a high-performing team in dynamic, high-growth environments, with a track record of fostering team engagement and success
Strong analytical and data-driven approach to strategy formulation and execution, with experience in leveraging market and customer insights to optimise commercial outcomes
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams, influence global product strategies, and represent the organisation externally
Nice to have:
A strong academic background, ideally from top-tier universities, complemented by early career success in consulting or other strategic roles
Experience launching and scaling go-to-market teams in hyper-growth startups, particularly in the fintech or payments sectors
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to evolving market conditions, demonstrating resilience and innovative problem-solving
