The Local Corporate Sales Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting local business within the area around the Miami Marriott Dadeland and Courtyard Miami Dadeland properties. The primary intent of the position is to create one on one business relationships with individuals who influence and drive local transient room nights, local catering events, and small local meetings. This position is primarily an outside sales position.
Job Responsibility:
Focus on building unit's top-line revenue
Ensure business opportunities are aligned with overall hotel plan
In deployed markets, work with Revenue Management to align revenue opportunities with hotel budget goals
Ensure execution of brand service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all Sales processes
Continually focus on improving guest satisfaction
Ensure fair and equitable treatment and associates' satisfaction
Requirements:
Proactively soliciting local business
Research, solicit and qualify business opportunities
Execute local corporate rate agreements
Distribute local catering and meetings leads
Responsible for renewal of Marriott Global Accounts yearly
Develop and implement a sales strategy
Organize sales activities including prospecting and outside sales calls
Work with DOS, revenue management, and operations
Ensure sales and marketing information is timely and accurate
Ensure execution of brand service strategy
Create and sustain a work environment that embraces brand culture
Develop and manage a personal sales plan
Conduct targeted account research
Respond promptly to incoming business opportunities
Ensure business is evaluated and contracted within hotel parameters
Solicit and qualify new accounts
Maintain and grow business of existing accounts
Identify and develop new accounts
Understand competitors’ strengths and weaknesses
Effectively manage and develop relationships with key stakeholders
Effectively utilize sales resources and administrative/support staff
Coordinate with hotels for site inspections
Update hotels on status of accounts and pending business
Develop correspondence, manage opportunity details, and proactively develop customer solutions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date account data and reporting
Process all business correspondence within acceptable time limits
Create proposals/contracts and other booking documentation
Manage and maintain account files
Effectively manage business opportunities and maximize revenue
Understand overall market - competitors, economic trends, supply and demand
Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close business and negotiate contracts
