Job Description:

The primary responsibility for all positions with McCaffety Ace Hardware of Gastonia is to 'Amaze Every Customer Every Time' and uphold the Core Values as determined by the management team. The Key Carrier is responsible for the overall direction of store associates and coordination of store operations in the absence of key store management. Demonstrate the W.O.W. process: W - What can I help you find? O - Offer items to help finish the project. W - Warm welcome back!

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the store as dictated by the schedule
  • In the absence of management staff, serves as the 'Manager on Duty' by directing the store team, and adhering to company directed policies and procedures as they relate to the store operations, receiving of merchandise, store opening and closing processes, cash register transactions, daily cash reconciliation, shrink prevention, cash control, and inventory control
  • Resolve and/or report any issues pertaining to the shift including employee issues, call outs, getting store coverage, customer, product issues, etc.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures and serve as role model for safety
  • Set the example of outstanding customer service and team leadership. Present yourself in a very professional manner to the store team and the customers
  • Able to perform all the duties of the Sales Associates and Cashiers in addition to being a Team Lead-Key Carrier

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Minimum of 5 years of retail experience in a leadership role
  • Hardware store, hand tool, power tool and yard tool experience a plus
  • Technically proficient in computer systems including related software
  • Gather and analyze data and maintain accurate records
  • Must possess cash reconciliation, opening and closing retail store, and POS experience
  • Take initiative, assume responsibility, and execute thoroughly
  • Interact with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company's insurance carrier's standards. Delivery Truck usage is possible
