We are expanding our GTM technical team and seeking a Sales Engineer to act as the technical lead for our prospective platform partners. In this role, you will guide partners through technical discovery, integration scoping, and solution design during the pre-sales process, ensuring a smooth handoff to post-sales implementation. You will work at the intersection of sales, partner engineering, product, and engineering, helping partners understand how Parafin’s embedded financial products fit into their platform architecture and business goals. You’ll also play a key role in shaping Parafin’s technical pre-sales motion as we scale.
Job Responsibility:
Lead technical discovery and pre-sales scoping with prospective partners and their engineering teams, serving as the primary technical point of contact through the sales cycle
Design and communicate integration approaches for Parafin’s financial products, balancing partner constraints, scalability, and time to launch
Present technical solutions to a range of audiences, from engineering to C-suite stakeholders, clearly articulating tradeoffs, ROI, and implementation considerations
Build product-quality demos, reference implementations, and proofs of concept to demonstrate feasibility and partner fit
Develop integration architectures, diagrams, and technical documentation to support smooth transitions to post-sales implementation teams
Create sales enablement materials and demo tooling that help the broader GTM team sell more effectively
Identify product gaps, edge cases, and recurring partner needs, and collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence product roadmap, improve platform capabilities, and optimize the sales cycle
Help define and refine technical pre-sales processes, tooling, and best practices as Parafin’s Sales Engineering function grows
Act as a trusted technical advisor to prospective partners, helping them understand how embedded finance can unlock value for them, and their small business customers
Contribute to building a scalable, repeatable technical sales motion that supports Parafin’s growth trajectory
Requirements:
3+ years of client-facing technical role such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Account Manager
Strong understanding of software systems and integration patterns, including: RESTful APIs and authentication (OAuth, API keys), webhook event handling and retry logic, Embedded UI components (iframes, web components, SDKs), async data flows and reconciliation patterns, common partner platform architectures (marketplace, SaaS, fintech)
Ability to reason about and explain system architecture, data flows, and edge cases without needing to own core production engineering
Comfortable reading and navigating a modern codebase to: Debug integration issues during pre-sales POCs, Understand API behavior and error handling, Collaborate with Engineering on feasibility questions, Review partner code samples and provide feedback
Note: You won't own production code, but should be comfortable in GitHub/IDEs
Experience creating realistic demos, POCs, or reference applications that support customer understanding and decision-making
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong judgment around when to go deep technically and when to keep things high-level, depending on the partner and stage of the deal
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and contribute to building scalable GTM processes
Passion for helping small businesses succeed and interest in embedded financial products
Nice to have:
Experience with React and/or Scala
Background in fintech, payments, or embedded finance
Prior experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS or API-first company
Familiarity with underwriting, capital products, or lending operations
