Job Description

This is a remote Sales Engineer role based in Adelaide, focused on growing sales of precision engineering instruments and services across South Australia. You will manage client relationships, build a pipeline in underserved markets and work with technical users across sectors where instrumentation, measurement and engineering outcomes matter.

Job Responsibility

  • Establish an active client pipeline within three months
  • Build a $2M qualified pipeline by the end of Q2
  • Build a portfolio of new and service existing clients across South West Australia (70/30 new vs existing split)
  • Cultivate long-term strategic accounts
  • Penetrate at least two new industry verticals by year one
  • Conduct around 10 client meetings per week
  • Log activity in SAP CRM
  • Identify prospects
  • Develop tailored proposals
  • Attend expos or sector events
  • Work with engineers on demonstrations
  • Target deals from $5K to $50K
  • Reduce sales cycle time
  • Build account plans for the top 10 accounts

Requirements

  • A degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4-6+ years in technical sales
  • Experience selling engineering products or services
  • Experience across defence, aerospace, robotics, rail, smart manufacturing, mining, resources or automotive
  • Exposure to data acquisition systems, vibration, rotating equipment, laser alignment, sensors or measurement applications
  • Experience managing deals from $5K to $100K+
  • Ability to build and maintain pipeline through meetings, CRM activity and follow-up

  • Optimize instrument performance focusing on liquid handling precision, camera system calibration, and software controls

  • Facilitate hands-on training sessions for customers on instrument operation, maintenance, software functionality, and applications, utilizing prepared training materials and protocols
