Job Description

As UK Sales Director, you will be based in our office in London, reporting into our UK/IE Managing Director. We are looking for an experienced sales director to join our UK commercial team and oversee our team of sellers representing key independent agencies, US based performance agencies and client direct relationships. You will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of four sellers - ranging from Group Sales Executive to Key Account Director level and contributing towards a sales team for your individual team as well as helping the UK & Global team reach the wider target.

Job Responsibility

  • Team Leadership & Development: Prioritize the well-being and motivation of your sales team, creating bespoke development plans to drive high performance
  • Operational Management: Oversee expenses, holiday coverage, and internal escalations to ensure a smooth, efficient group operation
  • Leadership by Example: Act as a knowledge hub for your team, staying ahead of trends in podcasting and the wider media landscape
  • Commercial Strategy & Patch Ownership: Develop and execute a group-level commercial strategy, utilizing data (Salesforce/Qlik) to identify opportunities and overcome challenges
  • Senior Partnerships: Build deep relationships with senior agency and client stakeholders, leading high-level conversations and quarterly business reviews (QBRs)
  • Trading & Negotiation: Partner with the MD to secure annual trading deals and provide senior-level support to sellers during critical pitch and closing stages
  • Internal & External Advocacy: Represent Acast as a thought leader at industry events and lead UK commercial marketing efforts to keep the brand front-and-center
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with AdTech, Product, and Creator teams to ensure the seamless rollout of new formats and show signings
  • Operational Excellence: Collaborate with fellow Sales Directors to optimize the UK commercial operation and lead internal sales forums

Requirements

  • Preferably 10+ years of experience in digital media sales or a media agency
  • Proven team management experience
  • Experience of working closely with independent agencies, with established relationships with senior agency contacts
  • In depth knowledge of the podcast industry is a must
