Carex is partnering with a healthcare technology partner to hire a Sales Director focused on expanding interoperability and healthcare data solutions within payer and health plan organizations. This role is ideal for a strategic healthcare IT sales leader who thrives in complex enterprise environments and is passionate about helping organizations solve critical data exchange, integration, and interoperability challenges. The Sales Director will play a key role in driving growth, building executive-level relationships, and positioning innovative integration and data quality solutions that enable scalable digital transformation and AI initiatives across healthcare ecosystems.
Job Responsibility
Identify and develop new business opportunities within health plans and payer organizations
Manage and grow strategic accounts through consultative account planning and expansion strategies
Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders including CIOs, CTOs, Operations leaders, Clinical leaders, and Digital executives
Position interoperability and integration solutions that reduce complexity, improve data quality, and streamline payer workflows
Drive sales performance through disciplined pipeline management and forecasting
Align solutions with payer priorities including administrative and medical cost reduction, interoperability and compliance initiatives, provider experience improvements, data quality and analytics readiness
Lead proposal development, product demonstrations, contract negotiations, and opportunity strategy
Coordinate cross-functional resources and virtual selling teams to maximize client outcomes
Stay informed on healthcare payer market trends including FHIR/API adoption, interoperability mandates, and evolving care delivery models
Conduct consultative discovery, needs analysis, and solution presentations
Maintain knowledge of competitive healthcare IT and interoperability vendors
Execute proactive outreach and account-based engagement strategies
Document all sales and prospect activity within Salesforce
Leverage AI tools and workflows to improve reporting, planning, analysis, productivity, and operational efficiency
Develop repeatable AI-enabled processes, templates, prompts, and automations that enhance scalability and decision-making
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare IT, or a related field
equivalent experience may be considered
5–10+ years of experience in complex healthcare software sales and account management
Demonstrated success closing both net new business and expanding existing healthcare customer accounts
Experience selling into payer organizations strongly preferred
Strong understanding of healthcare IT, interoperability, integration platforms, and modern data exchange solutions
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders
Consultative sales approach with exceptional relationship-building skills
Experience managing long sales cycles and complex enterprise opportunities
Strong verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills
Passion for healthcare technology and customer success
Ability to travel as needed within assigned territory
