We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and proactive Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our expanding South Africa sales team. As a key member of our commercial organisation, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and qualifying leads, initiating outreach, and scheduling high-value conversations for our Account Executives. Your goal will be to create meaningful connections with hospitals, clinic groups, and healthcare networks - helping clinicians across South Africa experience Heidi firsthand. This role requires a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-growth startup environment. You’ll become an expert in engaging healthcare stakeholders both virtually and in person, visiting hospital sites and clinics to build relationships, understand clinical workflows, and identify opportunities for impact.
Job Responsibility:
Identify, research, and prospect potential customers (private and public hospitals, clinic groups, and medical practices)
Execute outbound campaigns using a mix of calls, emails, social selling, in-person meetings, and product-led signals to qualify leads
Schedule high-quality meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives
Engage with clinicians directly - including on-site visits to hospitals and clinics - to understand needs and demonstrate Heidi’s value
Maintain accurate records in HubSpot CRM, manage and optimise sales pipelines, and consistently meet targets for qualified leads generated
Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Customer Success teams
Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer needs
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in a sales or business development role, ideally in SaaS, healthtech, or healthcare (preferred but not essential)
Clinical background (e.g. medicine, nursing, or allied health) strongly preferred
Proven success in generating leads, qualifying prospects, and managing high-volume outreach campaigns
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organised, disciplined, and results-oriented
Comfortable working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
Eager to learn, adaptable, and excited about professional growth opportunities
Languages: English required
Afrikaans, isiXhosa, Zulu, or Sotho fluency is a strong plus
