GoodParty.org is looking for a Sales Development Manager to help reinvent civic leadership in America. You will lead our impactful, high performing Top-of-Funnel outbound calling team. Throughout the year, your focus will shift between initial candidate outreach and nurturing relationships to driving conversions to our product and service offerings. The ideal candidate excels in prospecting new leads, guiding a team and deepening relationships with engaged users to promote the product adoption.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and coach a team of contract outreach reps by coordinating daily/weekly priority call lists, setting pipeline goals, and ensuring high-quality, high-impact conversations
Create and refine recommended talk tracks, email templates, call scripts, and objection handling guides to improve outreach conversion and candidate quality
Monitor outreach performance and call quality, providing insights or resources to help reps improve results
Own and execute candidate outreach at the top of the funnel, introducing prospective independent and nonpartisan candidates to GoodParty.org and sparking their interest in running for office using our tools
Drive initial engagement by clearly communicating our mission, platform benefits, and the unique value of running independently with GoodParty.org’s support
Manage a high-volume outreach pipeline in HubSpot, maintaining accurate records, tracking engagement, and ensuring consistent, personalized follow-ups
When bandwidth allows, make outreach calls to contribute to top-of-funnel goals
Pilot and implement new messaging strategies, tools, and AI enhancements — testing what works and scaling what doesn’t across the team
Share top-of-funnel insights with internal teams to help inform platform positioning, marketing strategy, candidate personas, and product messaging
Bring a startup mindset to everything you do by experimenting, learning fast, and iterating to drive candidate pipeline growth and readiness
Report to the Senior Sales Manager who currently oversees all of our sales teams
Requirements:
You’re up for the audacious challenge of driving money out of politics and democratizing democracy
You have 4-5 years of experience in outreach, sales, or business development
2+ years in tech sales
1+ years experience as a team lead
You’re skilled at building trust with team members, moving conversations toward action
You explain complex tools simply and clearly, and communicate expectations with confidence and empathy
You’re organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing pipelines in HubSpot while hitting engagement goals
You’re tech-savvy and already using AI tools that boost performance
You thrive in a fast-paced, remote, startup environment where you can make things happen without a lot of red tape
You’ve trained or coached team members on talk tracks, objection handling, or outreach strategies
Nice to have:
You’ve used your outreach or sales skills in a social impact, nonprofit, or political environment, either professionally or as a volunteer
You’ve built or optimized CRM workflows, automation sequences, or reporting dashboards — especially in high-volume outreach teams
You’ve worked in civic tech, political campaigns, or democracy-focused initiatives and understand the unique challenges of this space
You’ve deployed AI tools for outreach (e.g. call summarizers, email generators, or LLMs) to improve efficiency and personalization
