Chester Race Company is seeking a dynamic, target-driven individual to join our Commercial Team as a Sales Development Executive. This permanent role, based in the heart of Chester, will focus on generating new business by developing and maintaining a strong sales pipeline through outbound sales activity, networking opportunities, and proactive engagement. The post will be central to sourcing, nurturing, and securing new business, contributing directly to the growth objectives of both Chester Racecourse and Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse.
Job Responsibility:
Proactively identify and target potential brands/companies
Generate new business via telephone, email, social media, and face-to-face networking
Represent the company at events, forums, and client functions
Demonstrate commercial understanding on how brands activate sponsorship
Research prospect needs and tailor proposals that deliver measurable outcomes
Nurture and progress relationships through regular communication and follow-up
Collaborate with the Commercial Team to grow the pipeline and achieve quarterly revenue targets
Increase profitability through Hospitality, Sponsorship, and wider commercial sales
Provide data insights to support lead generation and development activity
Maintain accurate CRM records (HubSpot preferred) and log all communications
Prepare and analyse sales pipeline reports for management review
Requirements:
A minimum of 2-3 years professional experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles
Experience in sponsorship, partnerships, or marketing-led sales
Proven ability to identify and engage brands for activation opportunities
Experience attending networking events and building business relationships
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Commercially minded – connects sponsorship assets to business value
