As a Sales Associate with M/I Homes, you will play a supportive role in helping customers begin their new home journey alongside our New Home Sales Consultants. You’ll welcome visitors to the model home, help answer questions about floor plans and community features, and assist in creating a warm, engaging experience for every guest. This position offers hands-on exposure to the homebuilding and sales process, allowing you to learn essential sales, marketing, and customer service skills while collaborating with internal teams. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow professionally and develop toward a future New Home Consultant role.
Job Responsibility:
Welcome and engage visitors with a warm, professional, and customer-first approach that reflects the company’s values
Support the New Home Sales Consultant in day-to-day sales and marketing efforts that help drive community success
Learn and apply company training and proven selling techniques to confidently interact with prospective buyers
Help ensure model homes and homesites are clean, organized, and presentation-ready for every customer visit
Accurately register guests and enter customer information into systems with strong attention to detail
Assist in maintaining community signage to ensure it is clean, visible, and up to date
Collaborate with the sales team on marketing events, outreach efforts, and community initiatives to help generate interest and traffic
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team goals and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment
Requirements:
Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to learn, problem-solve, and take initiative
Strong communicator who listens well and stays organized in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented and committed to delivering a positive, customer-focused experience
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and general computer applications
One year of customer service, sales, or related experience preferred
college degree or relevant training is a plus
Adaptable, positive, and eager to grow professionally over time
Must be able to attend weekly sales meetings held every Monday at the M/I Homes corporate office in Franklin, TN
Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
A personal cell phone for business use and a valid driver's license are required
Ability to demonstrate homes with multiple levels and varying stages of development
Nice to have:
One year of customer service, sales, or related experience
college degree or relevant training
