Job Responsibility:

  • Proactively engage customers in need of assistance, accurately identify their requirements through insightful questioning, and recommend optimal home solutions
  • Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, Introduction of new products, commercial calendar implementation and remodels
  • Keep the area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked
  • Express enthusiasm for IKEA products by consistently expanding knowledge of their features and benefits
  • Understand the store and department action plans
  • Implement, maintain and change out Add-Ons throughout the store, as needed, to help achieve sales volume, conversion and Gross Margin goals, and promote vitality
  • Optimize sales and maintain profitability by guiding customers toward high-priority and best-selling products
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze and adjust sales space capacities based on system parameters (sales location management) to secure high stock availability
  • Support the implementation and upkeep of planned commercial activities in, or involving, your range
  • Develop specialized knowledge through training to be able to sell and plan basic modular furniture solutions
  • Contributes to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • 1 year's relevant work experience
  • Experience in retail, preferably in the home furnishing sector
  • Experience in actively selling through understanding customers and their needs
