Markey’s is seeking an ambitious and dependable Sales and Engagement Liaison based at the JW Marriott Austin, and serving both the JW Austin & Austin Marriott Downtown. This person will be responsible for driving additional business and exposure while targeting existing customers and new business opportunities. The Sales and Engagement Liaison will be integrated into the Hotel Sales team within their workspace.
Job Responsibility:
Actively prospect through phone calls, email outreach, in-person meetings, and social selling techniques with a focus on generating increasing Markeys’ revenue on a per event basis
Organize and maintain detailed prospect files/spreadsheets
tracking all prospect activities diligently
Adhere to a structured communication process to effectively engage with both prospective and existing clients
Generate leads from various sources including online and print publications, and other channels as they arise
Expected to be on-site to participate in hotel site visits, with limited opportunities to work remotely
Lead the Event Technology discovery process with customers, demonstrating eagerness and attentiveness to their needs/inquiries
Ensure continuous and effective communication with prospective clients and maintain a thorough follow-up process
Showcase exceptional conversation and rapport building skills
Serve as a reliable and supportive partner, helping future clients understand Markey’s capabilities
Identify & foster opportunities for Business Development team to pursue non-hotel partnerships
Requirements:
Experience in client sales and business development required
Experience in the hospitality industry preferred
Must have excellent customer service skills, promptly and effectively responding to staff/client needs
Computer proficiency and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to learn R2 and CRM tools will be required (training available)
Capable of thriving in both a collaborative team setting and working independently, with the ability to follow supervisory directions
Demonstrate a high level of self-discipline in managing responsibilities efficiently
Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, ensuring you are adhering to the venue’s appearance standards
Must have strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to multi-task
The ability to switch between working independently and collaboratively is a must
Nice to have:
Experience with facilitating meetings efficiently
Familiarity with Event Technology solutions or equipment is a plus
