Your mission is to identify, pitch, and onboard top-tier Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs) to the Uber Eats platform. You will manage the full sales cycle—from cold-calling and prospecting to negotiating and closing deals. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role that requires a "hunter" mentality and a deep passion for the South African food and beverage industry.
Job Responsibility:
Own the entire sales process from initial outreach and lead generation to contract signing and hand-off
Identify high-potential restaurant partners that will add value to the Uber Eats marketplace
Effectively communicate how Uber Eats can drive incremental revenue and brand awareness for small businesses
Navigate complex conversations around commission rates, marketing spend, and operational requirements
Stay ahead of local trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge
Work closely with the Onboarding and Account Management teams to ensure a seamless transition for new partners
Requirements:
1–3 years of professional experience in sales, account management, or business development
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Deep understanding of the South African retail/restaurant landscape (Johannesburg, Cape Town, or Durban specifically)
Fluent in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and the Google Workspace suite
Nice to have:
Prior experience in SaaS, FoodTech, or high-growth tech startups
Proficiency in other local languages (e.g., isiZulu, isiXhosa, or Afrikaans) is a significant advantage
Experience consistently exceeding sales targets and KPIs in a competitive environment
High emotional intelligence (EQ) and the ability to build rapport quickly with diverse business owners
Ability to thrive in a "startup" culture within a large global organization
