A well-established, two site training practice, which received a Good CQC rating inspection 2018 and review 2019. We are looking to appoint a GP who is looking to work within an environment that supports new and innovative ways of working. Ideally for 6 to 8 sessions per week but would consider less. BMA salaried GP pay scales and model contract offered with flexibility to negotiate favourable terms. We hope that you will look towards running a personal list with a view to working towards Partnership with us in the future. This would enable you to contribute towards continuing improvement to patient services and access to healthcare for all our patients.
Job Responsibility:
Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate
Provide other general medical services to meet identified patient need
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients
Work within current CCG policy for prescribing
Be available and accessible to patients at all times as agreed
Maximise the effective use of current clinical computer systems
Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes
Compile and issue computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
To take part in, and lead on, areas including clinical auditing and data collection
Support under-graduate student training in the surgery
Support GP registrar training in practice
Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings as necessary
Provide short term emergency cover for unplanned absence of colleagues
Provide emergency on call cover for the practice
Be involved in developing primary care services
Working in close collaboration with the practice team to ensure that access targets are reached
Support health development and ensure health promotion work is undertaken
Awareness of, and compliance with, all relevant organisation policies and procedures
Undertake all mandatory training as determined by the practice
Committed to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based practice
Contribute to evaluated audit and clinical standards setting within the organisation
Adhere to GMC Good Medical practice
Maintain accurate and timely medical records
Adhere to National and local guidelines (e.g NICE)
Engage with local quality frameworks e.g. QoF, Quality Improvement, Prescribing Incentive Schemes
Reflect on personal practice through SEA, NHS appraisal, patient complaints
Maintain continued education through attendance at courses and/or study days
Ensure appropriate professional registration and licensing are met through continued professional development
Participate in all training programmes implemented by the practice/organisation
Participate in an annual performance review
Maintaining a log of all personal and/or professional development
take responsibilities for own development, learning and performance
demonstrate skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work
Active involvement in the Annual NHS Appraisal process
Active involvement in the GMC Revalidation and Licensing procedures
Requirements:
Experience of working in a primary care environment
Experience of continued professional development
Experience of QOF and clinical audit
Experience of medicines management
Experience of CCG initiatives
General understanding of the GMS contract
Qualified GP
MRCGP
Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
Full GMC Registration
Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
Nice to have:
National Performers List registration
