Job Description

We are working with established contractors, PMC, and clients to build a strong safety team. We are looking to fill multiple positions all across Malaysia ranging from SSS, SHO, to Manager level roles.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure workplace compliance with OSHA 1994, Factories and Machinery Act (FMA), Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974, and all other relevant local regulations
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe acts, or non-compliance, and recommend immediate corrective actions
  • Lead investigations into all workplace accidents, near-misses, and occupational diseases
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports (e.g., JKKP 6, 7, and 8 forms) to DOSH within the required timelines
  • Act as the Secretary of the Safety and Health Committee, ensuring regular meetings are held, minutes are recorded, and action items are followed up on
  • Develop, review, and update Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) or Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents for all operational activities
  • Organize and conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and specialized OSH training programs for employees and contractors
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies, including DOSH (JKKP), BOMBA, and DOE (JAS)
  • Establish, maintain, and test Emergency Response Plans (ERP), including fire drills and evacuation procedures
  • Inspect the site daily to identify, eliminate, and control immediate safety hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe behaviors
  • Organize and conduct daily or weekly toolbox meetings to brief workers on specific job hazards, safety procedures, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Strictly enforce the correct usage and maintenance of PPE among all site personnel and sub-contractors
  • Verify and monitor high-risk activities (e.g., working at heights, confined space entry, hot works, lifting operations) to ensure they are covered by valid Permits to Work and strictly follow safe work procedures
  • Inspect scaffolding, heavy machinery, power tools, and lifting equipment before use to ensure they are safe and comply with DOSH standards
  • Act as the first responder to site incidents or near-misses
  • Secure the scene, provide initial first aid if qualified, and immediately report the incident to the SHO and Project Management
  • Support the SHO in updating HIRARC records, compiling site safety statistics, and organizing safety campaigns or emergency drills
  • Ensure site housekeeping is maintained at a high standard to prevent slips, trips, falls, and health hazards (like breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes)

Requirements

  • Degree / Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or relevant
  • Yellow book / Green book certificate is a MUST
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in construction industry
  • Have experience doing data centers / high rise / infrastructure / factory / warehouse projects
  • Proficient in Mandarin is an ADDED ADVANTAGE to liaise with China contractors and stakeholders
  • Open to relocate / travel for work
