This position is responsible for learning and supporting the Safety Director in planning, administering, and training employees on environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience with workplace safety programs, regulatory reporting, audits, and daily operational safety practices in an agricultural and industrial environment.
Job Responsibility:
Learn and assist with safety training, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking
Assist with safety audits and inspections of facilities and equipment
Help maintain safety documentation, training records, and regulatory reports
Observe and support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies
Promote safe work practices and proper PPE usage
Perform other duties as assigned to support safety operations
Assist with general facility housekeeping and safety-related maintenance tasks
Participate in ongoing safety education and training activities
Support daily operational safety needs as directed
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, or a related field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic understanding of workplace safety principles
Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data entry
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
The intern must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
The role may require working at heights and in varying weather conditions with appropriate safety equipment
