Job Description

We are looking for a Safety Software Architect to contribute to platform development activities, focusing on safety architecture definition, deployment, and compliance. You will work within Agile SAFe teams, contributing to Program Increment (PI) deliveries and supporting multiple automotive projects (zone controllers, body controllers, ADAS platforms). This role is well suited for freelancers or independent consultants looking to work on complex automotive embedded projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and maintain Software Architecture aligned with system-level design
  • Ensure compliance with: ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ISO 21434 (Cybersecurity)
  • Design and manage: SW architecture allocation and resource optimization at microcontroller level
  • Define and align SWA concepts across teams
  • Architect integration of: Safety mechanisms and AUTOSAR BSW safety modules
  • Lead architecture reviews and ensure consistency with standards
  • Contribute to: ASPICE assessments and FSM / FML reviews
  • Support deployment and integration of safety concepts into projects
  • Define and own architecture deliverables: SAD, SRS, HSI

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position
  • Strong experience in AUTOSAR Classic Architecture
  • Deep knowledge of: BSW modules (WdgM, SafeWdgM, Dem, E2E, MemProtection)
  • Experience in: SW component architecture, ECU integration and HW-SW interface definition
  • Strong understanding of: Functional Safety (ASIL) & Safety mechanisms
  • Experience with: ASPICE processes (SWE.1 – SWE.6)
  • Knowledge of: Cybersecurity integration (ISO 21434)
  • Experience with: Automotive communication stacks (CAN, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Microcontroller knowledge (Stellar / Traveo is a plus)

  • Experience in multi-core automotive platforms
