Job Responsibility:
Performs direct observation of the patient to maintain safety
Utilizes specialized training, de-escalation techniques and other interventions as applicable to create a therapeutic and calming environment for patients
Communicates patient mental and/or physical status changes to the primary Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Leader
Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
BLS through the American Heart Association required
De-escalation training preferred
Six months previous CNA or EMT experience in the Emergency Room preferred
Ability to learn new tasks, follow written and verbal instructions, make judgments, work well with a variety of people
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
well organized and able to multi-task
Vision sufficient to read medical records, instruments, documentation, and visual changes in client condition
Hearing sufficient to interact with client who may be unable to speak at normal voice level
Sufficient mobility and dexterity to assist patients with call lights, side rails and to react appropriately to confused or agitated patients until assistance arrives
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly
Nice to have:
