Designs, develops, implements, and oversees health and safety programs including program marketing and immersion of programs at PG&E to change or improve employee health, safety, and wellness. Manages the planning, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting effectiveness of health programs. Organizes, leads, and facilitates cross-functional teams and communicates about programs. Works with Safety & Health leaders to strategize and execute program initiatives in accordance with safety & health strategy. Supports execution by providing tools to leadership and health champions.
Job Responsibility:
Support drivers and leaders regarding questions and insights into what data and reports indicate
Develops, implements contractor safety program, systems, policies and procedures required to ensure regulatory compliance and the overall safety and health of PGE contractors
Develops, implements, monitors and maintains programs, systems, policies and procedures required to ensure regulatory compliance and the overall safety and health of employees and the community
Creates safety standards, procedures and guidance that meet regulatory compliance and represent best practices
Recognizes, evaluates, recommends and implements PG&E Safety policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with Safety requirements
Delivers presentations to senior leadership as well as communicating program philosophy, information, and operational policies and procedures
Ensures that quality control procedures are established to monitor all aspects of regulatory compliance
Develops and provides Safety training to Company employees, as needed
Develops and implements programs including leading coordination and facilitation of program review sessions with leaders and/or functional groups to review costs, schedule and program effectiveness
Promotes programs to enhance and encourage employee awareness of safety, accident/incidents and regulatory compliance
Requirements:
Seven (7) years of safety and program development/management experience in a construction, utility, or industrial environment, or master’s degree in safety specific
Five (5) years of safety and program development experience in a construction, utility, or other industrial environment
May Travel over 50% of the time.
Nice to have:
Experience writing standards and procedures
Utility industry experience and familiarity with the types of vehicles operated
Safety professional certification, for example, CIH, CSP, CHMM
Highly effective communication skills
Ability to organize clear and concise presentation points and deliver these in an informative, engaging, and articulate manner
Ability to solve problems, taking into account the strategic and operational perspective
