Job Description

Designs, develops, implements, and oversees health and safety programs including program marketing and immersion of programs at PG&E to change or improve employee health, safety, and wellness. Manages the planning, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting effectiveness of health programs. Organizes, leads, and facilitates cross-functional teams and communicates about programs. Works with Safety & Health leaders to strategize and execute program initiatives in accordance with safety & health strategy. Supports execution by providing tools to leadership and health champions.

Job Responsibility

  • Support drivers and leaders regarding questions and insights into what data and reports indicate
  • Develops, implements contractor safety program, systems, policies and procedures required to ensure regulatory compliance and the overall safety and health of PGE contractors
  • Develops, implements, monitors and maintains programs, systems, policies and procedures required to ensure regulatory compliance and the overall safety and health of employees and the community
  • Creates safety standards, procedures and guidance that meet regulatory compliance and represent best practices
  • Recognizes, evaluates, recommends and implements PG&E Safety policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with Safety requirements
  • Delivers presentations to senior leadership as well as communicating program philosophy, information, and operational policies and procedures
  • Ensures that quality control procedures are established to monitor all aspects of regulatory compliance
  • Develops and provides Safety training to Company employees, as needed
  • Develops and implements programs including leading coordination and facilitation of program review sessions with leaders and/or functional groups to review costs, schedule and program effectiveness
  • Promotes programs to enhance and encourage employee awareness of safety, accident/incidents and regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of safety and program development/management experience in a construction, utility, or industrial environment, or master’s degree in safety specific
  • Five (5) years of safety and program development experience in a construction, utility, or other industrial environment
  • May Travel over 50% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Experience writing standards and procedures
  • Utility industry experience and familiarity with the types of vehicles operated
  • Safety professional certification, for example, CIH, CSP, CHMM
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Ability to organize clear and concise presentation points and deliver these in an informative, engaging, and articulate manner
  • Ability to solve problems, taking into account the strategic and operational perspective
  • Demonstrated strong customer focus, project achievement/management and cross-functional collaboration/ teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, results orientated environment
  • Ability to think and work independently using a wide range of resources
  • Knowledge of incident investigation analysis and corrective action plan development/management
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point skills
