Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment within our Construction Projects. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards, conducting training sessions, and implementing safety protocols. The Safety Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and safety of all employees while adhering to OSHA standards and other relevant regulations.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and workers’ compensation laws
Provide training and development programs for employees on safety practices, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization
Maintain accurate records of safety training sessions, incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation
Serve as a resource for employees regarding occupational health issues and environmental health and safety (EHS) matters

Requirements:

Proven experience in a safety-related role within government construction projects is preferred
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation law, and occupational health practices
Certification in first aid and CPR is required
additional certifications in EHS or related fields are a plus
Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis methodologies
Ability to conduct engaging training sessions for diverse groups of employees
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
Relevant Experience Requirement: 3 years (Required)
