Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment within our Construction Projects. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards, conducting training sessions, and implementing safety protocols. The Safety Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and safety of all employees while adhering to OSHA standards and other relevant regulations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and workers’ compensation laws
  • Provide training and development programs for employees on safety practices, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization
  • Maintain accurate records of safety training sessions, incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding occupational health issues and environmental health and safety (EHS) matters

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a safety-related role within government construction projects is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation law, and occupational health practices
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is required
  • additional certifications in EHS or related fields are a plus
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis methodologies
  • Ability to conduct engaging training sessions for diverse groups of employees
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Relevant Experience Requirement: 3 years (Required)
