The Safety Manager is a leader within the Division. This person is responsible for monitoring the consistent implementation of Swinerton Health and Safety Program and this IIPP in their assigned Division. The Safety Manager assists management in implementing and maintaining the Swinerton Health and Safety program and their responsibilities shall include:
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate, Implement, and Monitor the Corporate Safety Programs at various project locations
Able to perform all duties of Safety Manager and Sr. Safety Manager
Provide training and education programs to Company personnel
Organize pre-job safety planning meetings to plan for potential hazards and problems prior to start of job
Inspect jobsites to ensure Company EH&S Program and OSHA/EPA compliance
Provide emergency response plans for projects
Arrange for basic first aid training for jobsite personnel
Investigate and analyze bodily injury and property damage accidents, complete root cause investigations
Coordinate project EH&S programs with subcontractors
Provide updated information to employees regarding EH&S requirements and changes
Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies for conflict resolution
Provide Environmental and Health testing/sampling, as necessary
Perform and document field auditing and service visits
Coordinate and conduct a Root Cause Analysis on any event requiring one
Assist project teams with subcontractor compliance with Attachment I minimum performance standards
Complete other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
BS in SE&H, or equivalent experience required
Recognized Credential such as CHST, ASP, CSP or acceptable work history, experience, and education
Trainer Certifications such as the OSHA 500 preferred
NYC SST 62hr Supervisor Training Required
Thorough knowledge of OSHA Construction Regulations
Thorough knowledge of Chapter 33 of the NYC Construction Codes (Department of Buildings)
Strong knowledge of NYC DEP (HazMat, Sound and Dust Control)
Strong knowledge of FDNY Code and Regulations within NYC – F01.
Construction Site Fire Safety Manager preferred.
Ability to evaluate construction work activities with respect to safety and loss control
Ability to recognize and analyze Company trends with respect to Company accidents
Ability to recognize training needs and develop training in safety
Computer skills, i.e. Word, Power Point, Excel, and Windows
Presentation skills
Strong organizational and management skills
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
Valid Driver's License
Nice to have:
Trainer Certifications such as the OSHA 500 preferred
Construction Site Fire Safety Manager preferred
