The Position: Safety Manager Vulcain Engineering UK are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to provide senior health and safety leadership across a major, high‑hazard nuclear decommissioning programme. This role provides senior health and safety leadership across a large decommissioning programme, ensuring safe operations, strong legal compliance, and continuous improvement in safety culture and performance. Some of the main responsibilities of the Safety Manager will include: Provide expert advice on legal and organisational safety requirements. Develop and manage contractor safety induction processes and safety registers. Analyse compliance data, produce reports, and drive continuous improvement. Advise on Safety & Health KPIs and their inclusion in contractual frameworks. Support planning and coordination of safety‑focused progress and coordination meetings. Act as subject matter expert for operational, legislative, and regulatory safety matters. Lead implementation and improvement of safety processes aligned with ISO 45001. Provide governance and oversight of incident reporting, investigation, and corrective actions.
Job Responsibility:

Requirements:
Degree in an appropriate field with NEBOSH Diploma as a minimum
Chartered membership of a recognised safety institution
Strong knowledge of occupational safety & health management systems and legislation
Proven leadership experience in construction or decommissioning safety (Fusion, nuclear, or high‑hazard industry experience is desirable)
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills
Experience delivering safety campaigns and driving continuous improvement
Strong analytical and technical report‑writing capabilities
