Job Description

Caddell Construction has a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Safety Intern who is inquisitive and has a desire to learn.

Job Responsibility

  • Assists with planning, implementing and supervising project safety guidelines and ensuring that accident and fire protection programs are in compliance with the Caddell Corporate Safety Program on the assigned project
  • Assists with conducting thorough daily safety inspections of all active work areas and documenting these inspections
  • Assists with consulting with field staff on safety issues, policies, procedures and regulations
  • Assists with conducting initial safety orientation sessions for new hires
  • Assists with monitoring housekeeping practices to ensure clean and safe environment
  • Shadows Safety manager as construction safety liaison with owner and subcontractors
  • Assists with preparing and submitting all required safety-related reports
  • Assists with conducting post-accident and property damage investigations
  • Performs additional assignments per Safety Manager’s direction

Requirements

  • Pursuing college or university accredited degree program
  • recommended majors include and not limited to Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or other related field of study
  • at minimum two (2) years of completed education, and/or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Some travel may be required, access to reliable transportation required
  • Must attend 2-day Orientation at Corporate Headquarters in Montgomery, AL
  • Must be available for the duration of the internship, May 18 – July 24, 2026

Nice to have

30-Hour OSHA Construction Course preferred but not required
