Boeing Brazil is seeking Safety Engineering Manager to join our Safety and Airworthiness team Boeing Brazil,São José dos Campos. Our team is actively engaged with airplane programs that currently include 737-10 MAX, 777-9, 777-8 Freighter, and in production and/or future product development programs. We also work supporting airplane modifications, and reviewing, updating, and creating safety processes and the associated training material. As a Safety Engineering Manager, you will manage a team the performs critical airplane technical analysis with high visibility across Boeing. The selected candidate will play an integral role in ensuring safe airplane operations and design. Job Responsibility:
Manage engineers performing technical activities in the area of integration of safety processes across multiple functional teams
Develop and maintain relationships with BCA Program, Enterprise Safety, Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Functional Team leaders as well as collaborate with regulators
Create and maintain a culture of open communication and collaboration with focus on continuous improvement and knowledge transfer
Promote talent acquisition and retention within the team by ensuring career development of direct reports, promoting employee recognition, and building a team culture that improves employee satisfaction
Establish and implement integrated team plans (e.g. budgets, schedules, performance standards) to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved
Requirements:
Must have existing rights to work in Brazil
Must have a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering
Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA)
Fluent in both written and verbal English
Senior level of experience in an engineering role
Experience in leadership either formally or informally leading teams in a cross-functional environment
Nice to have:
Strong motivation to prioritize retaining, developing, and growing team members
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken with a varied audience
Experience with leading technical cross functional teams, working across organizational boundaries, and ensuring an inclusive environment
Experience with Systems Engineering & Integration and Airplane Safety
Prior experience with airplane development programs or in-service airplane support
Experience applying System Safety industry best practices (e.g. ARP4761 and ARP4754, MIL-STD-882, NASA-STD 8719, etc.)
Engineering background in at least one of the following disciplines: Airframe, Flight Sciences, Flight Test, Interiors, Propulsion, or Systems, and an understanding of certification processes
