The Safety Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Safety Manager in the day-to-day administration and continuous improvement of the organization’s Safety and Health Program. This role serves as a key technical resource for developing standardized policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that protect our employees across both pharmaceutical pharmacy settings and industrial warehouse environments. This role will support the Fenton location locally and the network as a whole.
Job Responsibility:
Draft, revise, and implement comprehensive safety policies and SOPs
Identify gaps in current safety protocols and lead initiatives to enhance the safety culture
Perform regular, documented site safety inspections and audits
Proactively identify physical, chemical, and ergonomic hazards
Assist in the continuous improvement of an engaging safety program
Deliver training to diverse audiences
Participate in and/or lead safety meetings with teams across the network
Assist in the maintenance of documentation required for regulatory compliance
Investigate safety incidents and near misses
Lead emergency drill training
Requirements:
1-4 years of experience in an EHS or Safety role
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
Strong understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry)
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional departments
Adequate writing/typing skills for SOP development
Ability to present safety topics to varied group sizes and audiences
Ability to spend significant time walking and standing in both pharmacy and warehouse environments
May require lifting of up to 25 pounds
Nice to have:
Experience in a dual-environment (Healthcare/Clinical + Industrial/Logistics)
Professional certification (e.g., ASP, GSP, or OHST)
Familiarity with pharmaceutical standards (e.g., NIOSH, USP)
Project Management: Ability to implement standardized systems across multiple locations or departments
Occasional routine travel to sites to perform assessments or facilitate training
