As a Safety Communications Associate, you will support Uber’s safety communications efforts across Brazil, based in Sao Paulo. This role reports to the Safety Communications Director for LATAM, and as a team, you will work to tell our safety story.

Job Responsibility

  • Establish Uber’s safety story highlighting our technology and innovation with local media and third parties
  • Develop a compelling and consistent narrative on Uber’s commitment to safety
  • Respond to media requests and crisis management on safety issues
  • Work closely across Uber’s teams, including Social Media, Immediate Response Team, Safety Ops, Policy, Public Safety and Legal, on gathering information for external communications
  • Lead monitoring, reporting, and coordination with PR firms

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in topics related to external communications
  • Relevant experience will include some combination of journalism, agency experience, in-house communications, and experience in complex safety, government, or policy communications
  • Active media relations
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Proficiency in English and Portuguese
  • Strong familiarity with social media
  • Ability to leverage AI tools
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Flexible work schedule, including but not limited to weekend work hours
