The Safety Clerk II is responsible for the effective handling and processing, operation, and oversight of a specified area within the safety department. Specified areas include Log Auditing, Driver Penalty Compliance, Drug and Alcohol Compliance and Driver Qualification Compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute and maintain areas standards to the specification of Company and DOT compliance
Coordinate and collaborate with drivers, operations, department staff, management, and DOT regulations to meet day to day operation success
Assist in the review of new regulations, applications, and policies
Perform daily system monitoring
verify the integrity and availability of all specifies areas to their specified area
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible violations of company policy and DOT regulations
Self-review and verify completion of their scheduled jobs and duties daily
Maintain complete and up to date records pertaining to Company Policy and DOT Compliance serve as backup to Safety Clerk I
Assist with preparing and reviewing routine documents, HOS, Driver’s credentials, and permit books for departure
Preparation of basic documents, memoranda, forms, and certificates including gate passes, schedules for any informational material as required meeting assigned duties
Greet and assist drivers, staff, and management in person and over the telephone in a professional manner with proper telephone etiquette using multi-line telephone system
Respond to inquiries, take messages, and forward inquiries to the appropriate personnel
Assist in drug and alcohol program, of collecting specimens and breath and alcohol analysis
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Three to Five years related experience and/or training preferred
Understanding of FMCSA regulations pertaining to Part 395 Hours of Service
Part 382 and Part 40 Drug and Alcohol
Part 391 Driver Qualification
and Part 383 CDL Standard
