Bessemer Management is a transportation company that provides comprehensive back-office support, management, and logistics services for several logistics/trucking companies. We have 90+ years of experience operating in multi-faceted transportation modes and are a growing organization. We are looking for a dynamic, career-minded individual to support our company as a Safety Claims Associate.

Job Responsibility

  • Processing liability, cargo, and property damage claims from start to finish
  • Coordinating with TPAs, adjusters, attorneys, law enforcement, and claimants to resolve claims efficiently
  • Gathering and maintaining claim documentation, including police reports, photos, dash cam footage, and supporting evidence
  • Managing accident intake by coordinating with the company’s accident hotline and third-party administrators
  • Participating in a shared after-hours on-call rotation to respond to accident and claims-related matters
  • Maintaining DOT accident files and facilitate FMCSA DataQs
  • Partnering with other departments on claim investigations and resolution as needed
  • Administering claims within the company’s insurance programs
  • Monitoring claim activity, identifying trends, and supporting company-wide risk reduction initiatives

Requirements

  • Trucking, transportation, and/or DOT experience strongly preferred but not required
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment where you will interact with a variety of people, including owner operators, terminals, co-workers, and internal departments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to recognize and appropriately respond to tone in phone and email correspondence
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Aptitude for quickly learning and navigating a variety of computer programs, apps, and websites

  • On a daily basis, provide legal advice and counseling on a wide range of employment law issues and legal support to the business unit and operations HR teams.
  • On a routine basis, provide tactical and strategic legal advice and counseling to HR leadership, including advice on handling performance or conduct concerns of high-level employees, employment law implications of operational decisions, ensuring compliance with unique state and local laws, and proactively addressing potential legal risk.
