Job Description:

Airswift is currently recruiting a Safety Assurance Engineer to work on a significant rail vehicle program based in Queensland.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execute System Assurance / Safety Assurance activities for the rail program
  • Ensure life cycle safety assurance and compliance with relevant codes and standards incl. 61508, ISO 15288 and EN5012x
  • Coordinate delivery of hazard and safety in design activities, assessments, and reporting
  • Guide projects through safety approvals and certifications processes
  • Develop associated safety cases and SFAIRP arguments in support of design type, testing and commissioning approvals, representing arguments to stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, operations, asset maintainers
  • Work with various engineering disciplines related to the rolling stock program – mechanical / electrical etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years System Safety engineering experience, ideally within a rolling stock / locomotive project
  • Knowledge of relevant standards: EN 50126/8/9, IEC 61508, ISO 15288
  • Understanding of full Systems Engineering V-Lifecycle / INCOSE handbook standards
  • Ability to produce safety analyses and documentation (such as GSN, PHA, SHA, IHA, ETA, FTA, QRA, Safety Cases, hazard log management)
  • Australian working rights – Australian Citizen, PR or Visa holder

Nice to have:

An understanding of RAM / Human factors is desirable
