Job Description

Sacopan Inc is seeking to fill the position of health and safety advisor (preventionist) for its plant located in Sacré-Cœur. Under the supervision of the Plant Manager and in collaboration with the Human Resources Manager, the Health and Safety Associate is responsible for leading activities related to EHS. Among other things, this person is responsible for carrying out audits, inspections, and observations on the production process. They participate in updating and disseminating corporate policies, procedures, and programs. The preventionist is also responsible for training staff on occupational health and safety topics, as well as implementing best practices in occupational health and safety.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure factory compliance with occupational health and safety laws and regulations by carrying out audits, inspections, and observations on the production process
  • Build and deliver training to workers on various occupational health and safety topics in connection with the corporate health and safety plan
  • Inform and train staff on changes made and updates to various corporate policies, procedures, and programs
  • Update the various health and safety policies annually
  • Prepare and update risk analyzes for all positions and participate in staff training on corrective and compensatory measures
  • Coordinate the health and safety committee
  • Propose improvements to practices related to health and safety at the plant
  • Collaborate on specific mandates and short projects
  • Lead factory life in terms of health and safety
  • Be on the lookout for the latest developments in health and safety
  • Carry out ergonomic analyzes with the REBA method
  • Be the point of contact with the prevention mutual and ensure the follow-up of complaints
  • Any other related task

Requirements

  • Relevant training in the field of occupational health and safety or a combination of equivalent experience and training
  • Good knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and act as an agent of change
  • Have excellent communicator and vulgarization skills
  • Have good analytical skills
  • French mandatory, professional English
