Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Safety and Security Officer to join our team. If you have a passion for ensuring safety and security in a healthcare setting, we encourage you to apply and become part of our team

Job Responsibility:

  • Routine patrols in and around divisional buildings
  • Patrols buildings, checks for unsafe conditions, fire checks, prowlers, vandalism, and other unusual occurrences
  • Makes rounds of assigned area at least three times during shifts, while making written reports and logs of issues found and operational duties
  • Promptly responds to emergencies and interacts with other care team members, patients, and visitors
  • Monitors alarm activations and video camera systems for potential security and safety issues
  • Verbally de-escalate situations as they arise, leading to possible physical management if the situation dictates

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
  • Ability to commentate tactfully with the general public and specialty patients to include patients with behavioral health concerns or those with altered mental status that may want to cause harm to themselves or others
  • Knowledge of methods of security in buildings and grounds to include ability to de-escalate situations once alerted
  • Ability to engage in physical confrontations with suspected offenders and handle situations as they arise
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Current and valid driver's license
  • Minimal computer literacy
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Must be able to pass a complete background check including a criminal background check
