Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for all initial Emergency Response at the Canfor Pulp facilities including Fire, First Aid, Rescue and Hazmat
  • Responsible for the periodic inspections, maintenance and inventory of all Emergency Response equipment
  • Manage the Evacuation Program
  • Oversee the Confined Space Entry (CSE) Program
  • Develop and implement rescue plans for Confined Space Entry (CSE) and Fall Protection
  • Responsible for regulatory Fire Protection Inspections
  • Management of Marsh Impairment Program and online impairment submissions
  • Responsible for Fire Main Flushing, Fire Hydrant Flushing and capacity testing, Fire Hose Testing, Fire Extinguisher Inspections, Replacement and Inventory, Fire Hose Station Inspection Replacement and Inventory, Fire Pump Run Ups and Monitoring
  • Administration of the Hot Work Program
  • Responsible for PGFRS (City Fire) Inspection Deficiency Reporting and audit follow up
  • Respond to all illness and injury incidents at CPL
  • Participate in incident investigations
  • Administer and execute safety initiatives and programs at CPL
  • Conduct periodic safety audits
  • Oversee respiratory protection programs
  • Manage heat stress testing in facilities
  • Conduct area gas sweeps as required by operations
  • Oversee the Gas Detector Program
  • Oversee the audiometric program
  • Conduct periodic sound level testing and area audits
  • Handle visitor and general inquiries
  • Coordination and administration of the Insurance (Marsh) Underwriter Inspections
