Job Description

The Safety Administrator, reporting to the Site Safety Manager, will be responsible for onboarding new employees, managing safety programs, and performing administrative tasks to ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role is essential in supporting the safety processes and does not include management responsibilities. The position requires strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities. This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive’ due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee’s co-workers, and/or the public at large.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring they receive proper safety training and orientation
  • Maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on the construction site
  • Provide training sessions on safety practices and procedures to all employees
  • Assist in accident investigations and compile reports to identify root causes and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and reporting
  • Support project managers and supervisors in promoting a culture of safety on the job site
  • Perform general administrative tasks related to safety compliance and reporting

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety support roles within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Bi-lingual in English / Spanish required
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and facilitate onboarding processes
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for our company without the need for current or future visa sponsorship

Nice to have

Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST) is a plus

  • Maintain and update HSE documentation, policies, procedures, and SharePoint systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility
  • Coordinate safety communications, including Safety Shares, toolbox talks, campaigns, and engagement initiatives
  • Administer WHS programs such as LiveSafe and support Safety Week and other injury prevention initiatives
  • Support risk management activities including risk assessments, hazard identification, incident investigations, and maintaining the WHS Risk Register
  • Monitor injury notifications and collaborate with workers' compensation and leadership to improve injury management outcomes
  • Facilitate HSE meetings, deliver training, and provide subject matter support on the HSE Management System
