Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in safeguarding and protecting all participants in our sport and contributing to making athletics the safest sport possible.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the UKA Head of Safeguarding in managing, coordinating and investigating safeguarding concerns and reports of abuse and poor practice made to UK Athletics and the Home Country Athletics Federations
  • Review and investigate Safeguarding allegations and concerns

Requirements:

  • Experienced investigator
  • Experience of working on complex investigations
  • Previous experience of responding to and investigating safeguarding concerns and referrals
  • Experience of working with victims or survivors of abuse
  • Knowledge of the statutory framework in relation to safeguarding children and adults and understanding of the processes in place for reporting safeguarding concerns to statutory agencies and UK Athletics
  • Sufficient educational attainment to demonstrate the ability to carry out the role to the required standard

  • Work in partnership with the Senior Safeguarding Officers, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Designated Safeguarding Lead, and staff to ensure that the College meets statutory and local requirements in relation to safeguarding
  • Ensure cases of suspected abuse are referred to the appropriate body, supporting staff and students through this process as required
  • Support the Senior Safeguarding Officers to lead the college’s efforts to safeguard students from potential radicalisation in accordance with the Prevent Duty and Channel Duty Guidance
