Rx Automation Mechanic

• Repairs and maintains automated pharmacy systems including dispensing equipment, robotic dispenser machines, pill counters, barcodes, and conveyor systems
• Conducts routine maintenance on automated pharmacy systems including cleaning, calibrating, and troubleshooting various components of the machinery
• Debugs and resolves any malfunctions or breakdowns that occur during regular operations
• Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and replacement parts used
• Implements inventory controls by corresponding with suppliers or vendors to ensure the timely availability of necessary components
• Applies in-depth knowledge to educate pharmacy staff about proper usage, troubleshooting common issues, and implementing best practices to maximize efficiency and accuracy
• Examines automated systems to ensure they meet safety standards and comply with relevant regulations
• Reads and interprets automation schematics and associated protocols, under general supervision
• Notifies the manager of any concerns regarding major repairs needed or any additional equipment needed to support the pharmacy automation equipment

• 3-5 years work experience
• Working knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills
• 6+ months of demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and controls aspects of factory automation systems
• 6+ months of experience working with electrical systems
• 6+ months of troubleshooting experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
• 6+ months of general maintenance and troubleshooting skills, including knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• Must be willing to travel up to 40%
• Experience with robotics systems
• Familiarity with Adept and GE Fanuc robots
• Experience with any work-order based preventive maintenance management system
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code

Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred
