Job Description

Our client is looking for a precision-focused Ruby on Rails Developer to perform targeted maintenance and optimization for a high-traffic web platform used by students to search for professional graduate schools. This is a tactical, execution-heavy role. The platform currently has several glitches and broken embedded links that require immediate fixes to bring the site up to date. You will receive clear direction from our leadership team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently. This is a 100% remote, part-time freelance project. The project is expected to be 20-30 hours total.

Job Responsibility

Tactical Execution: Identify and resolve platform glitches and "non-working" embedded links within the RoR environment
Code Maintenance: Perform necessary tweaks and updates to existing code to ensure a seamless search experience for users
Implementation: Work closely with the CMO and Project Manager to execute a defined list of software fixes

Requirements

Ruby on Rails: 3+ years of professional experience in a production environment
Strong understanding of the "Rails Way" and MVC architecture to ensure fixes are sustainable
Solid experience with JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS/Sass to address UI/UX-related bugs
Ability to jump into an existing codebase, follow direction, and deliver high-quality code without over-engineering simple fixes
