Job Description

Our client, a global media company, is looking for a Royalty Compliance Analyst to join their team! This will be a fully onsite role working out of their office in Midtown Manhattan. The successful candidate will possess royalty accounting experience, knowledge of cash collections, and have experience working in the entertainment industry! Please no corp-to-corp applicants or third-party agencies. Sub-contracted candidates or candidates that require immediate sponsorship cannot be considered. Role Overview: Contract Role: 6 months Pay: $30-35/h W2 (No C2C) Schedule: Fully onsite M-F, 9am to 6pm, 1 hour unpaid lunch.

Job Responsibility

  • Review contracts for financial terms and compare to royalty statements ensuring compliance
  • Trace financials through a contract’s life cycle
  • Reach out to licensees to collect and resolve open AR balances and royalty compliance issues
  • Monitor cash expected from licenses to ensure they are received promptly
  • Manage withholding tax certificates ensuring they are received and sent to Tax Department
  • Assist the cash application team resolve unapplied payments
  • Support month end close responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business concentration is required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP is required
  • Royalty accounting experience in the music/publishing/media area is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of cash collections / accounts receivable
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
