Routing and switching Software Developer. This role has been designed as ‘’Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office. Job Responsibility:

  • Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products
  • Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools
  • Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design
  • Applies developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary
  • Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals
  • Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • 12-14 years of experience as a Software Developer in Layer2/Layer3 networking or a related systems area
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming, data structures, algorithms, and Linux/FreeBSD operating system concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Experience in implementing one or more routing protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, or MPLS signalling protocols like RSVP, LDP, or multicast routing protocols like PIM, IGMP
  • Familiarity with Layer2 switching, EVPN, VXLAN, VPLS, and L2VPN is preferred
  • Proactive mindset and strong willingness to learn and adopt new software development tools and technologies
